Patrick Mahomes was watching Damian Lillard go off just like the rest of us

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was tuned in and fired up watching Damian Lillard ball out on Tuesday night. 

Folks all over the country haven’t stopped talking about the incredible show that Damian Lillard put on Tuesday night in the NBA postseason. In a losing effort for the Portland Trail Blazers, Lillard was shooting lights out.

Twitter was basically having a meltdown, as Lillard simply could not miss. Folks from all over the place were showing Lillard plenty of love, including Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes. The Super Bowl-winning signal-caller was simply blown away by how amazing Lillard played.

In case you missed the action, Lillard indeed was nothing short of electric. He finished the game with a mind-blowing 55 points, shooting 17-of-24 from the floor. Even better, Lillard was 12-of-17 on his 3-point attempts.

Lillard was on so much fire, video even surfaced of Austin Rivers thanking God when one of his shots actually rimmed out. You can’t make that kind of stuff up.

That alone tells you how special of a night Lillard had. So, it should come as no surprise that Mahomes praised him on Twitter. He was just like the millions and millions of folks watching on television as Lillard single handedly kept Portland in the contest. Despite his best efforts, the Nuggets came away with a 147-140 victory in double overtime.

Denver now holds a 3-2 series lead, with the Trail Blazers on the brink of elimination. Game 6 is set for Thursday night, with Portland hoping to do everything possible to force a Game 7. In order for that to happen, Lillard will no question have to record another performance to remember.
