Archie Bradley injury update: Angels pitcher goes to IL after fracturing elbow during brawl vs. Mariners

More like “Ouchie” Bradley.

The June 26th Angels-Mariners fight was all sorts of fun. It was an old-timey line brawl hearkening back to ’70s baseball that you’d see in grainy YouTube videos. There was lots of bad words said, lots of egos hurt and just some good, less-than clean fun.

There was an unfortunate casualty, however.

While no one was hurt throwing punches and scuffling, Angels reliever Archie Bradley landed on the IL after landing wrong on his elbow leading up to the fight: Bradley tried jumping the railing, and fell onto his face, fracturing his right (throwing) arm in the process.

Bradley is expected to miss a few months.

Head Angels athletic trainer Mike Frostad confirmed that Bradley was hurt during his exit from the dugout to join the fray.

The melee left both managers and six players ejected, and 12 members of both teams suspended in the day that followed, including Angels interim bench boss Phil Nevin, who got a whopping 10-game ban.

In 21 games, Bradley pitched to a 4.82 ERA (3.34 FIP), both less than stellar marks for the veteran reliever.

Well, at least he didn’t get hurt throwing the sunflower seeds.
