What channel is the hot dog eating contest on today? Time, TV schedule for Nathan’s 2022

The most famous competitive eating event in America — and, therefore, the world — is back.

The Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, returning to its iconic home on Coney Island for the first time since 2019, will once again pit massive favorites Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo against the field in the men’s and women’s competitions, respectively. This year, their biggest competition might not be the other competitive eaters who take the stage, but the ghosts of hot dogs consumed from previous contests.

Chestnut, aptly nicknamed “Jaws,” will look to set a record for most hot dogs eaten at this event for the fourth time in five years; he set the mark in 2021 with 76 hot dogs eaten in 10 minutes. Sudo will return after skipping the 2021 competition due to pregnancy; she will look to obliterate the field and break her own record of 48 1/2 hot dogs eaten in 2020.
