Kyle Pitts injury update, Week 6 fantasy outlook

UPDATE: Pitts (hamstring) is officially listed as “questionable” entering Atlanta’s Week 6 home contest against San Francisco, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

UPDATE: Pitts (hamstring) is practicing for a second-straight day, according to ESPN’s Michael Rothstein.

Pitts (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday after missing last week’s road contest against the Buccaneers, according to NFL Network’s James Palmer.

The second-year tight end was limited in practice on Wednesday but said he expects to be good to go for Sunday’s game against the 49ers. Fantasy owners are hoping Pitts can bounce back after a rough start to the season with 10 receptions (22 targets) for 150 yards. The last time we saw the former first-round pick on the field, he recorded one reception (four targets) for 25 yards against the Browns in Week 4. He has a tough matchup Sunda,y as the 49ers are allowing 5.15 fantasy points per game to TEs (fifth fewest in the NFL). However, Pitts is still one of the better tight ends in the league and should be considered a low-end TE1 this week.

Pat Freiermuth injury update, Week 6 fantasy outlook

UPDATE: Freiermuth (concussion) is out for Week 6, according to fellow Steeler Najee Harris.

Freiermuth (concussion) was among nine Steelers players who did not practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor.

The second-year tight end suffered a concussion in last week’s road defeat against the Bills. This is now the third concussion that Freiermuth has suffered in his short career. The Steelers will continue to monitor his status as he tries to clear the league’s concussion protocols. If Freiermuth cannot play, fantasy owners will have to hit the waiver wire for tight ends with favorable matchups, such as Evan Engram (@ Indianapolis), Irv Smith Jr. (@ Dolphins), or Will Dissly and Noah Fant (vs. Cardinals).

Dawson Knox injury update, Week 6 fantasy outlook

UPDATE 2: Knox (foot, hamstring) is not listed on Buffalo’s Week 6 injury report.

UPDATE: Knox (foot, hamstring) was seen at practice on Thursday, according to Bills beat reporter Sal Capaccio.

Knox (foot, hamstring) was limited in practice on Wednesday ahead of the big Bills-Chiefs game on Sunday.

The Bills are hoping to get the 25-year-old tight end back into the lineup after he missed last week’s game with multiple injuries. Without Knox, the Bills leaned on rookie Quintin Morris, who posted three receptions (five targets) for 39 yards. If Knox plays this weekend, he’s a low-tier TE1 option against the Chiefs, who are allowing 10.75 FPPG to TEs this season (11th most in the league).

Dalton Schultz injury update, Week 6 fantasy outlook

Schultz (knee) was limited in practice on Wednesday ahead of the Cowboys’ prime-time matchup against the Eagles.

The veteran tight end reportedly aggravated his sprained PCL in last week’s win over the Rams. Schultz bumped his knee in the second quarter and returned briefly before sitting out the second half. This season, the 26-year-old has nine receptions (17 targets) for 80 yards. However, in the past two weeks, he’s received just four targets and recorded zero receptions. If Schultz plays on Sunday night, he likely isn’t worth starting, as the Eagles are only allowing 7.79 FPPG to TEs this season.
