Conference tournaments are over, the selection committee has made its decisions and the field is set for the 2023 NCAA men’s hockey tournament.
The first step to the Frozen Four begins this week with the regional portion of the competition.
The reigning national champion, Denver, has its eyes on repeating after defeating Minnesota State in last season’s title game. The Pioneers are one of the four No. 1 seeds for the national tournament.
In addition to Denver, Minnesota, Michigan and Quinnipiac are the other top seeds. Both the Wolverines and Golden Gophers lost in the 2022 Frozen Four semis, while the Bobcats are aiming to get back to the Frozen Four for the first time since 2016.

When are the 2023 NCAA Frozen Four regionals?
- Start: Thursday, March 23
- End: Sunday, March 26
The regionals of the NCAA tournament begin on Thursday, March 23 and conclude on Sunday, March 26.
For the regionals, either the two semifinals will be played on Thursday, March 23 and the regional final will commence on Saturday, March 25, or the semis are on Friday, March 24 and wrap up with the final on Sunday, March 26, depending on the region.
When is the 2023 NCAA Frozen Four?
- Start: Thursday, April 6
- End: Saturday, April 8
The Frozen Four will begin two weeks after the regionals conclude.
The two national semifinals will take place Thursday, April 6, followed by the national championship on Saturday, April 8.
How to watch the 2023 Frozen Four regionals
ESPN’s platforms will broadcast all of the games at the 2023 NCAA hockey tournament. For the regionals, the contest will be played on ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPNews.

Where are the 2023 Frozen Four regionals?

There are four regions for the 2023 NCAA hockey tournament.
Games played in Manchester, N.H., are being held at SNHU Arena. It is the former home of the Manchester Monarchs, a since-defunct AHL/ECHL franchise.
In Fargo, N.D., that region will host games at Scheels Arena, the home of the Fargo Force of the USHL.
Looking at the Bridgeport, Conn. region, teams will battle at Total Mortgage Arena. It houses the Bridgeport Islanders of the AHL, the minor league affiliate of the Islanders.
Finally, in Allentown, Pa. the four clubs in that region will play at the PPL Center. It is home to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, the minor league affiliate of the Flyers.
Where is the 2023 Frozen Four?

This year’s Frozen Four is heading down south, as the NCAA men’s hockey tournament will play its final three games in Tampa, Fla.
Amalie Arena will host the 2023 Frozen Four, the home arena of the Lightning. It is the third time the venue is hosting the event, as the 2016 and 2012 Frozen Fours took place at the stadium.
