For at least a few seconds, Peyton Manning was a Jet fan.
Aaron Rodgers suffered an ankle injury during the Jets’ Week 1 matchup vs. the Bills, leading once again to Zach Wilson taking snaps under center.
While Jets fans were (and continue to) hold their collective breath with the Rodgers injury, they had a somewhat unlikely supporter by way of Manning. During the “Manningcast,” Manning had a similar stunned reaction to most Jets fans watching the game unfold.

“He’s in the tent he — he’s hurt,” Manning said, before the shot came of Rodgers being loaded on the cart. “Holy cow, I cannot believe this. I thought we’d go tape it up and get him back in there. C’mon. Dang.”
It’s a potentially season-altering injury for the Jets and Rodgers, who was reportedly taken for x-rays during the game. It’s unclear what the nature of the injury is.
Head coach Robert Saleh said the team should know more about the injury, though he was ruled out midway through the second quarter with the ankle injury.
Rodgers was playing his first action for the Jets, and played just four snaps before the injury happened. Now, the Jets turn to Zach Wilson to save a once-promising season.
